African Cross-Cutting Services - Medical Supplies and Services:

Identifying the need for medical equipment and supplies in developing countries, a group of doctors working for AFAP began collecting donations from Australian hospitals and the public to reinvest into the health systems of developing countries. From here, the Medical Supplies and Services program (MSS) was born.

As needs are identified and funds are found to help pay for the shipment of a container, AFAP sends much needed equipment and medical supplies to health institutions around the world, including Africa. In recent years we have sent medical supplies to partners in eastern and southern Africa.

At the moment AFAP is trying to raise funds to send a container of medical equipment to Chikuni Hospital and Home Based Care Program in Zambia. AFAP has been working with its local partner at Chikuni since 1999. Chikuni Home Based Care is part of our APAC Program.
