Millions Against Malaria Campaign
AFAP is excited to announce its partnership with the Millions Against Malaria campaign.
Millions Against Malaria will take off on a flight around the world in a single engine aircraft with a goal of putting a face to Malaria while raising essential funds to fight this ravaging disease.
While the Campaign aims to raise awareness of Malaria internationally, funds raised will be used by AFAP to develop and implement malaria prevention programs in Papua New Guinea.

International Day of People with Disability

| International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations sanctioned day that aims to promote an understanding of people with disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and well-being. |

IDPwD also seeks to increase awareness of the benefits of the integration of people with disability in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life. IDPwD brings together people with disability, community organisations, businesses, individuals and all levels of government.

World AIDS Day 1 December 2009

World AIDS Day, observed December 1 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection.
This year AFAP has endorsed the Code of Good Practice for NGOs responding to HIV/AIDS

AFAP in Africa
AFAP is working with local partners in five countries in southern and eastern Africa to reduce poverty, improve health and food security and tackle communicable diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Activities are funded by AusAID under the Australian Partnerships with African Communities (APAC) program.

In South Asia more than 44 million children under the age of 14 are engaged in child labour.
AFAP is building a Child Learning Centre in India to help eliminate child labour and raise awareness on the importance of education.

Capacity Building for our local partners
in Viet Nam
All of AFAP’s programs include capacity building for our local partners in Viet Nam.
In the sector of emerging infectious diseases, AFAP’s Avian Influenza project combines designing and conducting training needs assessment to establish vet networks.
