Africa Program Officer

AFAP is an innovative overseas aid organisation that aims to be a leading agent for poverty alleviation through community based development throughout Africa, Asia and the Pacific.  We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic person seeking to contribute to our Program team.

The Africa Program Officer will directly assist the Africa Program Manager with a strong focus on our AusAID funded Australia Africa Engagement Program to include program reporting and monitoring as well assisting AFAP’s Education and Communications Manager with the Australian Community Engagement component of the AACES Program.

This is a full-time position with excellent benefits, including salary packaging, career development and a friendly, professional work environment.  Being part of AFAP offers the right person an invaluable opportunity to be part of a dynamic team with an international scope.  Salary and work hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate including the possibility of flexible work arrangements. The successful applicant will have at least 2 years development experience, preferably in an African context: superior organisational skills; and appropriate tertiary qualifications.  You will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be computer literate. You bring an ability to work within the philosophy of AFAP.
