Kaoki Mange! aims to develop a solid waste management model for small island environments through the development of a commercially viable beverage container recycling operation, diversion of organic waste for composting and public education and awareness programs. The project promotes taxation on drink cans to enable cash refunds for exchange and is currently documenting all the aspects of the initiative to develop a model for replication.

The project continues to promote the use of ‘Green Bag’ garbage bags and to work towards institution of a ‘user-pays’ garbage collection system based on the price of a bag and including the cost of collection.
