Tuvalu is a small, isolated country where most inhabitants rely on fishing and agriculture for their livings. Unfortunately, economic growth is inhibited by their isolation and they are especially vulnerable to environmental hazards such as cyclones and sea-level changes.
AFAP is currently running their Disaster Preparedness Program in Tuvalu to mitigate the risk of these disasters. AFAP and its local partner Tuvalu Association of NGOs (TANGO) are also implementing programs that focus on HIV/AIDS awareness and skills training.
