Since AFAP Viet Nam opened its Hanoi office in 1995, it has built an effective suite of programs involving public health, integrated rural development, livelihood programs, water and sanitation, institutional capacity building, education, micro credit and environmental management. AFAP’s unique role in Viet Nam encourages core involvement of local communities to undertake projects that are successful in fostering ownership and sustainability. AFAP’s experienced Viet Namese and Australian staff are currently engaged in providing training and technical expertise on a number of programs as mechanisms to alleviate poverty.
